Wakoburun News

Since the beginning of March, Munduruku associations have produced several documents and informative materials, both for the public and internal use, to help fight against the coronavirus pandemic. On March 13, the Wakoborun Association, in line with other Munduruku associations of the upper Tapajós and with the stance adopted by the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB), published a statement on the restrictions to its activities due to the virus, as well as on restrictions to movement of non-indigenous people within Munduruku villages. Also in March the Wakoborun Association launched their first set of informative materials that both asked and answered questions about COVID-19 in the Munduruku language.
